What is IV (Intravenous) Nutrient Therapy?

With a passion for nutrition, the rise of micronutrient deficiencies among the western society, the decline of nutrients in our soil and understanding how our diet impacts not only on our skin but our overall health, this treatment seemed like an incredible opportunity of giving added benefits to peoples existing diets as well as general well being.

IV (Intravenous) Nutrient Therapy explained

Intravenous Nutrient Therapy can cause higher serum concentrations within the blood when compared to intramuscular and oral micronutrient administration which is why it can be preferred to oral micronutrients supplementation. Achieving higher blood serum concentration levels enables the micronutrients to be more effective within our bodies as the absorption is not compromised in the digestive tract.

The nourishing vitamins and minerals within the various cocktails can be used from a simple energy boost to an increased sense of wellbeing.

At one time Intravenous Nutrient Therapy was only used by the rich and famous, although it has become a popular treatment used by everyone worldwide.

The history of Intravenous Nutrient Therapy

Dr John Myers started using Intravenous Nutrient Therapy for his patients as early as the 1960s. It was in the USA that Dr Myers used it alongside conventional medicine to create treatment packages for various medical conditions including acute asthma attacks, chronic sinusitis, acute muscle spasm, migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome) fibromyalgia, upper respiratory tract infections, cardio-vascular disease, depression and other disorders. Furthermore he used his ‘IV cocktails’ to benefit healthy patients for non-clinical indications.

IV Nutrient Therapy was then introduced to the UK during 2014/2015. With the addition of amino acids and recent advances they have become increasingly effective and popular for recovery following sporting events and strenuous exercise. With the decline of nutrients in our soil and the increase of micronutrient deficiencies, IV Nutrient Therapy has also become popular for general well being.
